Liberalism is a coherent vision made of various components, and that can be grasped complementarily from different values: Liberty, Individualism, Skepticism about power, Rule of law, Tolerance, Peace, Responsibility & Spontaneous order.

Liberty is liberalisms most essential value. It provides one the ability to do as one pleases. Thus, liberty entails the responsible use of freedom under the rule of law without depriving anyone else of their freedom.

Individualism is the belief that every person is unique and independent from each other, which can also imply that the government should not interfere with your individual affairs. In a liberal view of society, individuals are the main focus!

Skepticism about Power is a deep and profound insight into the human psyche, about the impact of being in power on our behavior. It is the realization of the potential abuse of power through exploitation and domination.

Rule of law is the most powerful tool that prevents the abuse of power. It covers the institutions that protect us from the arbitrary whim of any ruler—no matter how good the intentions of these rulers are.

Tolerance is the core virtue of liberalism and underpins all laws and all values. Tolerance is what enables us to recognize the worth of each individual and most importantly to ensure peace in our modern societies of Social Cooperation.

Peace is a fundamental value that applies to all elements of social life and for a liberal it is based on the agency of the individual. It is the idea of persuasion instead of force and coerce in a disagreement.

Liberals have always embraced the notion of responsibility. It is that liberals trust in the individuals above anything else to solve their own problems, empowering them to take an active part in social life, always embracing the notion of responsibility.

Liberals believe in the power of individuals but do not idealize them. They believe that invention and innovation did not come into the world through a single mind but a result of an ongoing process of cooperation of free individuals.

Liberalism is about enabling human beings to become a bit better by complementarily understanding these 8 core values!
